Marin Clean Energy to cut electricity rates about 9 percent

Published Sunday June 26

Marin Dapper Energy will lower electricity rates by an possible average nine percent effective Sept. 1, making its electricity costs slightly less expensive than those of competitor Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

“Because we were able to procure power at a lower than expected cost we wanted to pass that savings along to customers,” stated Dawn Weisz, Marin Natty Energy’s executive officer.

For less than $5 more per four weeks for a typical residential customer, it also offers “deep green” rates from one hundred percent renewable sources.

When communities join Marin Dapper Energy, residents are automatically switched to MCE unless they opt out.
